TV Show Host

Scott Sargeant and Charlie Filkins are TV show host of a local South Metro Atlanta cable TV show called "The Car Guys TV Show" and have been on air for about 12 years. The show was also picked up in Columbus, GA by the NBC affiliate and carried a full ratings point (1.0) in all three male categories, which the hardest to get numbers in. They carried great ratings for a 30 minute TV show in Columbus on Saturday at 6:00 pm, fighting the news on the other stations. The number one show in the market was Oprah with four point (4.0) ratings and she was on one hour per day 5 days a week. So they feel like they did pretty good in Columbus.

Radio Shows

Scott and Charlie started on radio by mistake, no really it was. They went into a radio station to be interviewed about our TV show. When we finished the radio interview, the station manager/GM was standing outside the studio door and he asked could he talk to them for a second, He asked them if they would like to do a radio show? Scott said "We can do a show but we will not do it about cars" and the station manager said he did not care what they did it on because they were so good together and how they finished each others sentences they would be good on radio talk show.

Then they started their our show and had 12 sponsors walking in on day one and the station manager got onto the sales staff because they came in with their show and they out sold the entire sales staff. They started on Clear Channel station in Newnan, GA on AM 720 "The Voice". They had a 2 hour talk show on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon. They were a big success right from the start. These two only stayed there a few years and then were picked up as a 4 hour talk show on a South Metro Atlanta station called 92.5 The Bear.

Once again they had great success there and were on air talent for 2 - 3 years. They started at The Bear with a show on at night from 8 pm until midnight. Then on Friday Nights, the station manager came in and said we are going to carry a high school football game on Friday nights, so Scott and Charlie told them they would just do a show to wrap up all the games from the state of Georgia high school football. They did the show and it too became a great show and that is how they started the "GA High School Football Wrap-up Show". The show grew with leaps and bounds and people were calling in from all over the state. 92.5 The Bear decided to do a lot of changes and Scott and Charlie felt like the best thing to do is find a real good home for their football show and with a radio station that had listeners all day, not just when they were on.

That is when Scott contacted FUN 101.1 FM, which is the only radio station in South Metro Atlanta that had an Arbitron #1 rating, for them, it was the only one to move their football wrap-up show too. They were excited to get there and they made the guys feel right at home. The show is so full of energy and it makes for a great show with callers calling in all night to the show. They liked Scott and Charlie there a lot and even asked Scott to start doing the afternoon drive for them from 3 to 6 pm. So Scott is "Scott in the Afternoons"  from 3 - 5 pm and then he is "Sarge in Charge" of the "Budweiser Drive at 5" from 5 - 6 pm. (

www.fun101fm.com ) Scott also does a lot of the newscast for FUN 101.1 FM now as well. They are still with FUN 101.1 FM today and love being involved with the best station in South Metro Atlanta. We are with the #1 rated station in a seven county area and we are beating all the competition around us including our old 92.5 The Bear who is about 15th in our area now.

Internet Radio

The next step is to move on to their very own internet radio station which is what is coming up soon. That way everybody in Georgia and the world can hear the best sports shows anywhere. Their listeners will be able to log into our live show or listen to it from our archives. Radio stations across Georgia will be able to get the "GA High School Wrap-Up Show" or their "New GA High School Coach's Show" to play on their radio station at any time they wish as well. So they are excited to get it started and bring it to the entire state and the world. They will also have a variety radio station playing all week and plug in "Live" shows all week and on the weekends. They also plan to start the "GA High School Football Coaches Show" this year with us talking to coaches from all over the state on Saturdays, said Scott.

Professional Emcees/Host

Scott and Charlie became the first choice for everyone in the South Metro Atlanta area to host or emcee their events. They have worked with every charible organization there is and also host so many things including a car show on the second Saturday of every month from 5 to 9 pm in Newnan, GA at the bowling center. They have always done the car shows there to raise money for a different charity each show. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars with all the shows they have hosted. Two real life local celebrities, but that is what is so great about these guys. They are two of the most humble and nice guys to be around and everyone loves Scott and Charlie. If they host your event, it will be fun, entertaining and most of all, it will be successful.

Other TV Stuff

Scott and Charlie have been involved with so much in our area and other TV shows have asked them to be on the opening of their shows just to make people think they are real friends of theirs so they will watch in case Scott and Charlie are on their show that week. They have made TV commercials for the likes of Hummer Dealers, Ford Dealers, Heating and Air businesses and even sports bars. They made a fantastic commercial for the Boys and Girls Club of Newnan for United Way and they are so in touch with their customers and shows that never use a script. Truett Cathy, Owner of Chick-Fil-A, asked them to make a TV show in his personal garages because he liked them and wanted them to be the first ones to film a tv show or anything like it from his personal collection. Truett asked where are their lines and Scott told him, "Truett, I have known you almost all of my life, I don't need a script to talk to you". Scott worked for him many years ago at the original "Dwarf House" in Hapeville, GA and Charlie has known him a long time from his Godfather being Truett's best friend.

When Keith Brooking was playing with the Atlanta Falcons, these two hosted his annual fundraiser for his foundation each year, where they raised over a hundred thousand dollars per event. Scott played golf at the Braves camp in the Tim Hudson's Golf Tournament. Tim is another friend of these guys. They have been on movie sets for "The Last Bullet" and "Fat Boy Chronicles" with their friends Mike Buchannon and Jason Wynn. They are friends with Ron Lester form "Varsity Blues" as Billy Bob who was also in FB Chronicles after he lost all his weight. Scott and Charlie know all the racers from the NHRA and know them all well like John Force and his daughter Ashley, where they were with them when Ashley first beat her dad in a race, or Brandon Bernstein, a Top Fuel Dragster driver while his dad Kenny is racing Top Fuel Funny Cars, Bob Vandergrift JR. from north Atlanta sponsored by UPS and telling the guys what he needs to do to win in Atlanta, Angel Sampe who set the record on motorcycles for speed, Melanie Troxal racing against her husband Tommy Johnson as Melanie tells the guys what will happen at home if he wins against her.

Scott and Charlie also hosted Metro Alanta's United Way Celebration when they unvailed that United Way in Metro Atlanta raised over $80.5 million dollars. They were the first choice of Milton Little, President of United Way Metropolitan Atlanta. The list of involvement goes on forever but we will save it for the following pages.

So what ill they be doing next?

Who knows with these two guys, they seem to be  every event going on and most of the time they are in the middle of raising money for a charity somewhere. Stay tuned to this website and I am sure they will suprise you again soon.
